The I Am Free Music Festival is weaving a quilt made of the culturally diverse fabric representative of North Fulton County. It is one of the first of its kind in the area and is fun for the entire family. This diversified music festival will feature entertainment from local artists, merchandise and services from vendors, and food trucks.
We are excited to announce Revved Up Kids, Inc., a Georgia nonprofit 501c3 corporation, is the beneficiary of the I Am Free Music Festival. Since 2010, Revved Up Kids has been dedicated to protecting Atlanta's children and teens from sexual abuse and exploitation. They do this by teaching kids who predators are and how they operate, and equipping them to defend themselves if they ever meet one. Antonia LawrenceLike fresh rain in the dawn of morning, Antonia Lawrence is an artist who has a new appeal with an old school vibe. Aptly titled, Antonia’s music ministry is called, Fresh Rain Music. Antonia, the singer, songwriter, worship leader and speaker, is often called inspirational and refreshing in the music industry. Her voice captivates, as her message is delivered from the heart. On stage and beyond, Antonia’s energy is empowering and designed to ignite service to God and those whose lives might be changed by the power of a song. Antonia embodies the current trend among successful artists in the music industry. She is versatility! Her music is reflected in her rich multi-cultural background: British, Canadian, and Jamaican. Antonia’s music blends her ethnicity with her life experience in God. This is heard in her lyrics and rhythms. Antonia’s musical style ranges from R&B, to Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Reggae. As a singer and songwriter, Antonia’s music is filled with an ever-present Spirit of Gratitude to Praise God. The God-Given brilliance in her original music is designed to encourage as she gratefully celebrates the power of music. Her new single is “Wid You” is a hot and fun reggae track that talks about the qualities of a healthy relationship. Ultimately, Antonia’s desire is to refresh and enlighten the listener to experience the music and the message. Antonia has traveled globally, sharing her gift of song with the world. She has toured varied events including churches, conferences, trade shows, concerts and more as far as England, Brazil, The Caribbean Islands, North America, and beyond. Antonia asserts, “My career taught me there is no substitute for hard work and prayer.” She has worked with many artists who include Israel Houghton, Martha Manuzzi and Darlene Zchech and many others. Antonia has been graciously recognized for her accomplishments and awaits more through her dedication and hard work; both People You Need to Know magazine and the Gospel Choice Awards have honored her, thus far. Cinnamon DeniseAn Atlanta, Georgia native, Cinnamon Denise is a vocalist, bassoonist, songwriter, and producer who has a talent for engulfinglisteners into her music. As a vocalist, she started singing at an early age in her church Gospel choir where she developed a unique and virtuosic singing style. She uses this style in her performances with R&B/soul influences beautifully intertwined in the music. As a classically trained bassoonist, Cinnamon Denise incorporates a unique style of playing into her performances and has volunteered as a bassoon teacher in the Greater Miami community. A gifted lyricist and songwriter, Cinnamon Denise is fluent in several songwriting styles in the English and Spanish languages. Her projects include collaborating with the Japanese deep house producer, Hideo Kobayashi; an eclectic acoustic duo, "Cinnamon and Jonny" in Ibiza, Spain; a songwriting team member of new song for the Slovenia's Got Talent 2014 winner, Jana Šušteršič; a staff writer for the Peer Music Publishing Company; and the new age R&B band, the George Lacson Project's recent EP release, Paradigms. As a producer, her music video, "You Were Here," received 2nd Place in the Pronebula Awards Music Video Contest in Valencia, Spain. She is also a member of the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFEME), Atlanta, GA Chapter. Cinnamon Denise is an alumna of the University of Miami Frost School of Music where she studied Media Writing and Production. She recently received her Masters in Music Technology Innovation from Berklee College of Music Valencia, Spain Campus. As an ambassador of Berklee College of Music she attended the Midem Music 4-day Conference in Cannes, France, where she displayed her creative process on the demonstration floor and gave a stunning performance at the EmTech España 2014 MIT Conference. She recently completed a 3-month apprenticeship at Sonic Vista Studios, Ibiza, Spain, under the direction of L. Henry Sarmiento II, Recording Academy member and mixing/mastering engineer. At Sonic Vista Studios, she exponentially increased her writing and mixing skills, as well as became inspired by great musicians such as Elijah Ray. Cinnamon Denise has toured the eastern coast of Spain; performed on Eurovision-Slovenian national television; recorded with Grammy winning producers and engineers; and performed at some of Atlanta's top venues, to include The Velvet Note and Apache Café. Selected in the top 10 from 100 applicants, she was a semifinalist in the 2015 Montreux Jazz Festival Jazz Voice Competition, presided by legendary artist Al Jarreau. Cinnamon Denise aspires to successfully perform and reach national and international audiences through her intriguing vocals and musicianship. Her goal is to correlate with worldwide artists via songwriting and music production. Her desire is to leave a legacy of a safe space for aspiring female musicians, producers, songwriters, and engineers by opening a music school that empowers young ladies to harness and nurture their individual talents. Trado Jazz Pianist
Dapo DinaWelcome to an inspiring fusion... Dapo Dina's music embraces a truly Afropolitan spirit. His energetic and mindful compositions celebrate the fusion of cosmopolitan ideas with Afrikan spirituality. Rooted in the musical traditions and the contemporary aesthetics of his home continent, the pianist and composer is following international routes in Afro Jazz, enriching the genre by blending various styles to a unique atmospheric experience. His work defines a concept music that incorporates Afroism into Jazz. ...of afrika& beyond. Dapo Dina's conscious art is driven by spirituality, which can be felt by engaging with both tunes and language. Musically we are taken on a journey to an in between, experiencing and engaging an innovative blend of tradition, the play with classical standards and references to his Yoruba home culture, such as the messages of talking drums. The lyrics fuse influences from Afrika, Europe and other parts of the world, expressing chants in Yoruba, poetic lines in English, Zulu and German. The young, established artist comes from a classical educational background, having studied the piano in his home country Nigeria before turning to his life-long love affair with Jazz. Dapo Dina's compositions and playing draw on influences from many sides, yet not forgetting the spiritual and artistic wealth deriving from belonging.
Turkish Drummer and Percussionist
Emrah KotanEmrahKotan is a classically trained percussionist who came to the United States from his native Turkey and received a Master's degree in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University. His debut album, The New Anatolian Experience, is a collection of original compositions and arrangements that fuse world music and jazz, creating stylistically sophisticated vibes and a genuine model of personal artistic expression. After playing some of the most renowned venues in the world such as the Istanbul Jazz Festival, Playboy Jazz Festival and The Blue Note in New York, Emrah is one of the most sought after musicians in the Atlanta music scene. His unique musical ability transcends many genres and cultures. He is involved in various musical projects, including his own, and is the drummer/percussionist for Grammy award winning artist, India.Arie. Aside from performing, Emrah is an enthusiastic music educator who has conducted master classes and has taught many students over the years, some of which who have been awarded music scholarships by the colleges of their choice. Emrah teaches students of all ages privately and is the Director of the Jazz and World Percussion Ensembles at Agnes Scott College. He lives in Atlanta, GA. Performance Poet. Spoken Word Artist
hARTherapyhARTherapy is a premier social justice activist specializing in poetry and voice. As a performance poet and author of “Whites Only”, her work is based on the importance of cultural diversity. She uses original ear candy to nourish the hART and soul of various audiences. Throughout her childhood, her mother affectionately nicknamed her “Mother Theresa” due to her never-ending quest to help others. As a former AmeriCorps Member, hARTherapy used her public speaking abilities to engage with various people by working in a homeless veteran shelter and a local Atlanta-based free clinic for Black women. Her passion for community engagement activities has led her to live and work in places near and far including Mexico, Costa Rica and, most recently, South Africa. From 2015-2017, hARTherapy served in the U.S. Peace Corps as an HIV/AIDS Community Health Volunteer in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. These are just a few cultural experiences that have shaped the artistic approach to social justice for hARTherapy. She has performed at various locations including Atlanta's Apache Café, Katz Café, Divinity Church International, Ladysmith (South Africa) and Durban (South Africa). Ultimately, it is hARTherapy’s goal that all who hear her words are reenergized, invigorated, and inspired to give life just one more try.
